WELCOME - The legal services office of Freedom House represents indigent asylum seekers in the United States. This includes:

Determining if they are eligible for asylum and whether we can help them.
Preparing and filing an application for asylum for them with the U.S. Government.
Representing persons at their initial interview with an Asylum officer.
Representing persons in court at their Asylum hearing.

We also can assist persons applying for relief under VAWA, U-visas, or T-visas.

If we cannot help, we may be able to make a referral to an organization or attorney who can.
